We hope you all enjoyed Joseph's insightful talk on diversity in comics last week. If any of you would like to follow up with his writing, you can read his weekly column here!
We'll be starting November off right with some fun and games, and we hope you'll join us this week for our Draw off!!
We'll be having 3 volunteers up at a time to draw interpretations of different silly prompts. It'll be time to stretch your imaginations, and see what you can come up with!
Lastly, Comics Arts Brooklyn (or CAB) is coming up this weekend, November 7th and 8th. Admission is free, and those of you who would like to attend, stop by this week to hear more information about a Cartoon Allies Field trip to Brooklyn!

New Yorker Cartooning Editor Bob Mankoff and Very Semi-Serious: free sneak preview of HBO Documentary and evening with editor!

Bob Mankoff, will discuss his esteemed career as both cartoonist and cartoon editor of the New Yorker, as a part of a celebration of the softback publication of his critically acclaimed 2014 memoir How About Never—Is Never Good for You?: My Life in Cartoons. A special preview screening of the HBO feature documentary of the new film Very Semi-Serious: A Partially Thorough Portrait of New Yorker Cartoonists will also accompany the evening. Hosted by Keith Mayerson, SVA Cartooning Coordinator.

The School of Visual Arts Alumni Society, in partnership with the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation, presents Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and author Jules Feiffer, along with former publisher and president of DC Comics, Paul Levitz, discussing the legacy of pioneering comic artist and longtime SVA faculty member, Will Eisner. A Q&A and book signing will follow.
