This Friday: King Con Party

Halloween weekend has come and gone.

But the parties keep coming.

This Friday, 11/5, Cartoon Allies will be field-tripping it out to the Brooklyn Lyceum for this knock-your-socks-off event:

 

Wake up the next afternoon and GO BACK to catch the rest of the King Con, a super-homegrown comics convention that, for $7/day or $10/weekend, will make true the words "So... last weekend... me an' Paul Pope an' some other people... were chillin' in the basement of this old public bathhouse..."

The Small Press Expo, an annual small press comics convention held in Bethesda, Maryland, is a magical land of wonder. The aisles are congested, all concept of personal space is abandoned as soon as you wander into the hall, and the convention seems to have an ongoing Charisma debuff, but it’s filled to the brim with comics. Comics and the people who love them.

Way to go, Allies!

Both SPX and Anime Fest were a big success!  A lot of you turned out, worked the booth, and sold those comics!  A lot of people did VERY well, and you should all be really proud of yourselves, especially those of you who were new to the convention scene!  Seriously, thanks so much, guys!  Without you, none of this would be possible.

With these two conventions out of the way, we're pretty free in our schedule for a while.  Keith Mayerson is trying to get us into King Con, a new convention in Brooklyn taking place on November 7th and 8th, but if that falls through, our next convention is MoCCA, which takes place this April.

We're trying to think of cool stuff to do in the meantime.  We've got Pictionary and Jeopardy on reserve, but we wanna know what YOU wanna do!  E-mail us at cartoonallies@gmail.com and let us know what you'd like to do in some of the upcoming meetings!
